We were in Gillette a week ago Friday for an Emerald Director's meeting. We stayed in Gillette Friday night and on Saturday drove South through Saratoga, Wyoming and Walden, Colorado to Granby and then overthe Trail Ridge Road to EstesPark. Stayed there Saturday night and then drove to Tommy Thompsons cabin just north of Nederland for his annual Fall party. We did not get home until Sunday night and We were pretty tired.

I finished the first draft of my opening brief in the "wellbore" case and have sent it to Rod Peck in Craig. As soon as I have his comments I will fax it to you. Mom and Fred and I are driving to Cheyenne Monday evening. for the BLM lease sale. We are going to bid for Americomm on three parcels in the Cheyenne River Prospect. Then in the afternoon we will be at BLM where I am doing a lease status report for Hugh Schaefer and Fred is pursuing and idea related to a new technology which I got him interested in. I involves the use of rocket fuel to stimulate old wells. It can be done for about $12,000 per well. We are gong to look for some unleased lands or land with leases about to expire with old plugged wells on them which could be reentered with a workover rig. We estimate the total cost per well at about $90,000. I will keep you advised on this as we might attempt to do this one ourselves rather than selling it to an investor. I am also talking to Randy Stone at Emerald about this as there are over 100 old Muddy wells on Emeralds properties near Gillette. This could be happening very soon. There will be no well spudded in the Timber Draw Unit in Cheyenne River until December at the earliest. Al is Trying to get th price of the stock up so that he will not need to give up so much in his anticipated private offering but right now that seems to be swimming againt the tide. Al thinks the markets may turn up again in December.

We are having difficulty getting through to Tom and Claudia in Rome. Italy has changed it country code but we can' seem to get through using either the old one or the new one. Have you tried?
